I Will Never Leave Thee Nor Forsake Thee

Memory Verse: Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

This is a reminder for us Christians, that we should be contented of the things we have. We should not covet other people's possessions. Why? Because God promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Isn't that is more than enough? The almighty God is always with us, the creator and heaven and earth, the one who owns the universe will never forsake us. What else should we worry about?

Sufficient Grace

Memory Verse: 2 Corinthian 2:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

We know that Paul, during his ministry, suffered from physical infirmities. Prior to this verse, he mentioned that he besought the Lord, not only once, but thrice, that his thorn of the flesh may depart from him. And this is God's answer to him. God did not take away his infirmities from assured Paul that His grace is sufficient for him.

What a great promise, isn't? We maybe in trouble or in pain or in financial crisis at the moment, but always remember that His grace is sufficient for us. He will supply whatever our needs at the moment. He is just waiting for us to claim them from Him. So what are you waiting for? Kneel down and bring unto God your need and wait for His answer.

Have a blessed day!

Few Laborers

Memory Verse: Matthew 9:37
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

More and more people hear the Word of God everyday. The Word of God is being preached all over the world via television, radio, internet and other forms of media and communications. But how about those who cannot be reached by these media. And how about those who were able to hear the Word of God but no one made any followed-up on them? How many of them will be truly saved? And if they got saved, how many of them will grow and mature spiritually?

Let us face it, human intervention is still necessary and God still uses man (or woman) to reach out the lost souls. But not all of us can go to the field. God chose, prepared and equipped certain Christians to do the actual job. These are the missionaries, who leave their conveniences, friends and even love ones to obey God's calling. They bravely face or willing to face all the uncertainties that are waiting for them in their mission field.

As their brethren, are we just going to stand away from the field and watch them do all the work? Are we not going to help them? Can we just let them give up everything for the lost soul while we are enjoying our lives selfishly? Until when we will be just a spectator?

If we cannot go physically, let us help them by sharing what we have to meet their daily needs. We can give to help them reach their mission field. Will you be willing to share? Your one cent can go miles if given for the Lord's work.

Life Is Just a Vapour

Memory Verse:

James 4: 14
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. "

No one in this world can exactly predict the time of his or her death. Even those who are terminally ill cannot determine when will they die. Their doctors can only estimate based on their condition. But no one will be able to determine the exact date and time.

Our life is compared to a vapor. It will be here for a while but at no time at all it will be gone. Our life here on earth is just temporal. And after our life here on earth, we will be leaving in eternity.

As early as now, we already need to decide where and to whom we want to live our eternity? Do we desire to live with our Creator or with His Enemy? In Paradise or in Hell, the place of torment?

The power of God to forgive sin is on earth only, while we still live and can still make a decision. There is only a way to be with God in eternity, and that is through Jesus Christ. We need to accept the fact that you are a sinner and you need a Saviour. Anyway, there is no one who can claim that he is sinless. We don't only need to believe on Jesus Christ but to trust Him that He can save us from the fury of Hell. You have to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. That is only the way to Heaven.

I sincerely hope that you will not waste this chance, the chance to be with God eternally. Now is the perfect time for you to make a decision.

Trust In God Is Better Than Putting Confidence in Man

Memory Verse:
Psalm 118:8 "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

Have you ever experienced betrayed by your friend or by someone very close to you? Someone whom you really trust and share your secrets with? Painful right? And very disappointing because that is the last person that you expect to betray you.

This only proves that is only God whom we can trust without any chance to betray us. The more we trust God, the more that we please Him and the more we grow about the knowledge of Him.

I am not telling here that we cannot trust anyone, but what I am trying to emphasize is that human beings are always limited. Our most loved person can hurt us unintentionally. They can leave us without any reason. And whatever we do to please, it is simply impossible to please at all times.

God is exactly opposite. God is unlimited. He can think, perform beyond are thoughts and expectation. Our deepest and most dreadful secrets are safe with Him.

You need someone you can share your secrets with? Tell them to God and your secrets are safe.

Your Heart Is Where Your Treasure Is

Matthew 6:21 says "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." This simply means that if we invest our money on material things here on earth, our heart is in this earth also but if we have invested our money on spiritual things, which is of the heaven, our heart is in heaven. How do we feel seeing Jesus again? Excited? Hesitant? Why? Is it because we have so many things here on earth that we don't want to leave? Big house? latest car model? Hi-tech and updated appliances? conveniences? fun activities with friends?

Remember that we came to this world naked, and we will leave this world naked. We will soon leave all the things that we have here on earth. If you accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you will be with Him. If you have no personal relation with Him yet, it is not too late yet. You can accept His wonderful and eternal gift which is the everlasting life. But just the same, we cannot carry anything with us when we finally reach our final destination. You will not enjoy the things you have now if these things will be left someday. So you might as well use your money for the work of Lord and I am sure that you will have more gains for eternity.

Have a blessed week!

One Flesh

Genesis 2:24 says, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."

This instruction was given right after God brought Eve to Adam, after the first operation and after Adam called Eve a woman. Adam and Eve do not have biological dads nor moms. They were the first parent. But still God gave this instruction to them, because God foreknew that they will they will soon have their own children and their children will have their own family in the future. The instruction is given to them because God expected them to relay this to their future children and to prepare them as well. God wanted them to know that once their sons decided to have their own family, their sons need to leave them and be with his wife. This instruction is repeated in Ephesians 5:31.

I believe that this instruction is not given for nothing. I believe that God forsee the problems that arise when the children who decided to settle down still stay on their parents side. For one, the couple will not learn to build their own family. They will still depend on their parents for almost everything; decisions, finances, taking care of their kids and many other things that they supposed to learn if they decided to live on their own. And for the parents who allowed this kind of setup, they are teaching their kids to be weaklings and dependent on them.
In countries where extended families are not being practiced, this is not a problem. But in Philippines, extended families are very common. Families of the children still live with their parents. There are even some cases where the families of the grandchildren still live in their grandparents' house. Clearly, God's commandment and instruction is being ignored. Sad, but this setup is acceptable in countries like Philippines.
Many didn't realize that this kind of setup is the root of many marital and family problems. Truly, if God's instruction is not obeyed, expect problems and hurts to face.

Provoke not to wrath

I always believe that parents can make or break their children. The father's role in raising a child plays a big part on the child's future preferences and decisions, specially in their spiritual choices. Fathers can be an encouragement to their children to have an intimate relation with our Saviour or they can also be the cause of the children's choice not to serve God.

I witness many cases wherein the fathers are faithful in the church. And what I mean by faithful is not only faithful attending church worship services, but actively participating in almost all the ministries in the church. But sad, because they and sometimes they wives, are the only active in the family. Their children chose to have a different life.

Of course, this is not the father or parents' fault alone. But somehow, the parents of this children failed in some area, that is why they choice a different path.

So God, being an all-knowing God, gave a reminder for fathers in Colossians 3:21 to prevent this scenario. Colossians 3:21 says "Father, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged."

Glad Father

Proverbs 15:20 says, "A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother."

Wise is defined as Dictated or guided by wisdom; containing or exhibiting wisdom; well adapted to produce good effects; judicious; discreet; as, a wise saying; a wise scheme or plan; wise conduct or management; a wise determination (thinkexist.com).
Do we not give joy and gladness to our parents if we do the right thing? We do not only give gladness but also peace of mind to our father if he sees that we act with wisdom and knowledge for he will be assured that we our life will not be in trouble.
The best wisdom that we can acquire in this world is the wisdom from God. For it is clean and pure. And we can get that wisdom if we fear God and we meditate upon His word.
You want to make your father glad? Then be wise :)

The Lord will take you up

In the coming days, I will sharing fatherly verses to honour our fathers. These are verses with "father" word. Join me as I memorize and/or refresh these verses.

To begin with, let us memorize Psalm 27:10. The Bible says "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up." What an assurance isn't?

God already knew that there will be parents who will leave and forsake their children. This is the reason why this verse was written, to comfort those kids who were neglected by their parents.

Children who grew up in the nurture of their parents should be thankful that their parents are responsible enough to take care of them no matter how imperfect their parents maybe. Anyway, nobody is perfect, only God is perfect.

Be Not Conformed

Today's memory verse usually comes along with the previous verse I shared, Romans 12:1 Our verse today is in Romans 12:2. The Bible says "Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed, by the renewing of your mind. That ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God."

If we have a desire to know the perfect will of God in our lives, God's instruction is to stay away from the things of this world. Be ought not to conform to the standards of this world. We are not citizens of this world but of heaven. Hence, our eyes should not be focused on the things of this world but of the things in heaven. Our old nature should no longer reign in us but our the new person that God created in us when we accepted Christ as our own personal Lord and Saviour. Through constant reading and meditating upon the Word of God, our minds will eventually be renewed.

God's plan for us is the BEST PLAN for us. Should we settle for less?

Living Sacrifice

This verse is not new to me but I was reminded of this verse last week during the third night of our Bible Research. This was the night's memory verse. The verse is in Romans 12:1 & 2. The Bible says "I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

When Jesus died for our sins, Jesus did it once and for all. This means that no more other shedding of blood is required for the remission of our sins. Jesus' blood is sufficient for the sins of the world. God no longer require us to die for our sins, instead He wants us to give our lives as living sacrifice. He needs our lives to do His work here on earth, to fulfill the great commission in Matthew 28: 19-20, to reach the lost. But before we offer our lives as a living sacrifice, it should meet the requirements first; It should be holy and acceptable unto God otherwise our effort will just be like filthy rags in God's sight. Remember, God is holy and only holy things will be pleasing and acceptable in His sight.

Your life will never be acceptable in God's sight if you have no personal relationship with Him. Simply because He don't know you. The first thing you need to do before you offer your life as a living sacrifice, is establish your relationship with Jesus Christ first. Admit that you are sinner, ask God's forgiveness, and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.

If you have any question on how to accept Christ, please leave me a note and I will be very happy to help you.

God Bless!

Unimaginable Gift

Today's memory verse is found in 1 Corinthian 2:9. The Bible says "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." Isn't this is a wonderful promise? God has prepared something for us, which no man has ever conceived in mind nor in heart? What might it be? Truly, God's wisdom is infinite. It is incomparable to man's thinking. So let us love the Lord with all our hearts, mind, and soul and expect the unimaginable gift from God.

Honour Thy Mother

The world is celebrating the Mother's Day today! All of us definitely have our own moms because if we don't, we shouldn't also be existing in this sinful world. Let us take a look what the Word of God says about mothers.

Our memory verse for today can be found in Exodus 20:12. The Bible says "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee." This is a familiar verse and I wouldn't be surprised if you already know the verse. This is one of the commandment in the ten commandments given to Israel by God through Moses.
In Ephesians 6:2, this commandment is repeated, Honour thy father and the mother. This is repeated because this is an important verse. According to Ephesians 6:2, this is the first commandment with promise. And what is the corresponding promise if we obey this commandment? Our lives will be prolonged.

Even without this explicit commandment, I do believe that our parents, especially our moms deserved due respect and honour. Our moms conceived us for nine months or more in their tummy. They undergo so much changes and sacrifices just to deliver us healthy. They feed us, clothed us, they give us shelter, take good care of us, and give us anything that we need. Needless to say, God used them as instruments in order for us to survive in this world.

I believe that Moms' sacrifices and efforts are greater than our dad. Our dad's main concern is to provide for our needs. Our moms are the one who do the "dirty jobs" for us. We can't count the good things that our moms did for us. In all these things, do we still need to be commanded to honour them?

Is there anything too hard for THEE

Today's memory verse is from the book of Jeremiah chapter 32 verse 17. The Bible says "Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:"

What a comforting words from the Word of God, isn't? A declaration of God's almighty power. In book of Genesis, the bible declare how God created the heaven and the earth. By what means? Right! Simply by words alone! When He said, There will be a light, and there was light. No one can ever do the same thing, even the great magicians can never just utter the words to create things and will be created. Only God alone has the power to create things simply by words.

If God created the entire universe, is there anything He can't do? Ah yes! He can't change! He can't leave His promises unfulfilled. He can't do things that will contradict His holy nature.

He is a supernatural God who performs supernatural miracles in the life of men and women who put their trust in Him.

The FEAR of the Lord prolongs life

Today's memory verse is in Proverbs 10:27. The Bible says "The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened." We can relate the previous memory verse which is in Proverbs 8:13 in this verse. In Proverbs 8:13, the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. When we say evil, this are things which do not glorify God. What are the simple examples of these things? Lie, stealing, inflicting pain with other people, gossips and all of the bad things that you can think of. Let us take stealing as in illustration. When we say stealing, we get other people's property without permission. If we steal, what are the possible result? The owner of the thing we steal will definitely get mad and if he/she discovered who stole his/her thing, the natural tendency of man is to get angry to that person. His reaction will depend on the importance of thing stole from him and on his/her self-control. If he is the type of person who has a very lousy self-control, a petty stealing can result to physical injury, imprisonment or worst, killing.

In short, doing bad things due to lack of fear of God puts one's life to danger. In this verse, the Bible simply state the obvious and reminds us the results if we fear God.

Fear of the Lord is to hate evil

It is been so long since I post the last memory verse. I've been busy with my fulltime work and helping out with our church camp. Thank God, our camp was a success. Many souls got saved and the messages were really challenging. Though the camp site is not really convenient (shortage of water, mosquitos, uncomfortable and dirty quarter), it cannot be compared to the spiritual blessings showered during the entire duration of the camp.

Now I am back and hopefully, I'll have a little time every day to post a new verse for us to memorize. To continue the "Fear of the Lord" series in the book of Proverbs, today's memory verse can be found in Proverbs 8:13. The Scriptures says "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. "

In this verse, it is declared that if we fear God, we should not hate evil things, including pride and arrogancy and we will not be delighted in any evil way. Are we aware that if we delight on evil things or we patronize, admire, applaud people who commit unlawful act in the sight of God, though we are not the actual doer of these evil actions, we are partakers of their sin? Godly and heavenly things cannot be united with evil things. Hence, if we cultivate Godly fear in us, our heart will be furious with any amount of sin.

Book of Proverbs

One my favorite books in the bible is the book of Proverbs. And for this week, I will be sharing memory verses from the book of Proverbs with "fear of the Lord" phrase. So join me as I memorize/review these verses everyday. May we have a blessed and fruitful week ahead of us.
Our first memory verse for this week is in Proverbs 1:7. The Bible says, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. "
Every person I believe has his/her own fear. Many have fear of heights (Acrophobia). Some are afraid of spiders (Arachnophobia) and there are so many phobias that a person might have. But the fear mention in Proverbs 1:7 is different from these fears. The fear here is the kind of fear that is accompanied by love. The kind of fear that would compel us to obey God's instructions. The kind of fear that would give as the guilt feeling even before we commit an intentional sin. The fear that would make us grieve whenever we continue to disobey God's Word. If we implant this kind of fear in our lives, we won't have any other fear. We will have the courage to do great things for God. We would be fearless to follow every commandment that God has given us. And these instructions and commandments is for our learning and for our own good.
But this is also the fear that fools do not want to have in their life. Because fools do not want to be instructed. They believe that they know everything and they can run their own lives which is really foolishness.
Let us continue to pray that God will cultivate the Godly fear in us.

Pray Secretly

For today's memory verse, I want to share with you Matthew 6:6. The Bible say, "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

In this verse we are instructed to pray secretly. When we pray we do not pray to the people around us but to our loving Father. We are not talking to the people around us but to our only wise God. Hence, there is no need for us to broadcast our prayer and to let others know that we are praying. For when we do that, we might get the glory that is due to God.

One reason I am thinking why God gave this instruction is to help us concentrate while we are praying. If we are alone and we shut the door close, there is less distraction and our mind can focus more to our God.

If we obey this, God's answer will be given to us openly and even without telling to others explicitly, they will definitely see God's reward to us.

May you have a rewarding day!

A Love Theory

I've been tagged by Mommy Joy of A Momma's Journal with this meme. This is my first time to be tagged. I tried to follow the instruction and the result is true.

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger? There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....

* Thumb represents your Parents.
* Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings.
* Middle finger represents your-Self.
* Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner. & the . . .
* Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back.
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip. (As shown in the figure below):
Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later. Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)...., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)...., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day. Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse). You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT..... because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!! Please try this out and pass............. ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

Now, I want to share this theory MEME to:
