We should not covet other people's possessions. Why? Because God promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Isn't that is more than enough? The almighty God is always with us, the creator and heaven and earth, the one who owns the universe will never forsake us. What else should we worry about?Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-17890886665772326072009-07-13T22:27:00.000-07:002009-07-13T22:45:10.626-07:00Sufficient GraceMemory Verse: 2 Corinthian 2:9<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.</span><br /><br />We know that Paul, during his ministry, suffered from physical infirmities. Prior to this verse, he mentioned that he besought the Lord, not only once, but thrice, that his thorn of the flesh may depart from him. And this is God's answer to him. God did not take away his infirmities from assured Paul that His grace is sufficient for him.<br /><br />What a great promise, isn't? We maybe in trouble or in pain or in financial crisis at the moment, but always remember that His grace is sufficient for us. He will supply whatever our needs at the moment. He is just waiting for us to claim them from Him. So what are you waiting for? Kneel down and bring unto God your need and wait for His answer.<br /><br />Have a blessed day!Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-5645183460657916352009-07-07T22:08:00.000-07:002009-07-07T22:19:18.599-07:00Few LaborersMemory Verse: <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 102, 0);">Matthew 9:37</span><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 102, 0);">Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;</span><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 102, 0);">Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.</span><br /><br />More and more people hear the Word of God everyday. The Word of God is being preached all over the world via television, radio, internet and other forms of media and communications. But how about those who cannot be reached by these media. And how about those who were able to hear the Word of God but no one made any followed-up on them? How many of them will be truly saved? And if they got saved, how many of them will grow and mature spiritually?<br /><br />Let us face it, human intervention is still necessary and God still uses man (or woman) to reach out the lost souls. But not all of us can go to the field. God chose, prepared and equipped certain Christians to do the actual job. These are the missionaries, who leave their conveniences, friends and even love ones to obey God's calling. They bravely face or willing to face all the uncertainties that are waiting for them in their mission field.<br /><br />As their brethren, are we just going to stand away from the field and watch them do all the work? Are we not going to help them? Can we just let them give up everything for the lost soul while we are enjoying our lives selfishly? Until when we will be just a spectator?<br /><br />If we cannot go physically, let us help them by sharing what we have to meet their daily needs. We can give to help them reach their mission field. Will you be willing to share? Your one cent can go miles if given for the Lord's work.Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-76493340877724294602009-06-30T23:06:00.000-07:002009-06-30T23:52:16.726-07:00Life Is Just a VapourMemory Verse:<br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 0); font-weight: bold;"><br />James 4: 14<br />"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. "</span><br /><br />No one in this world can exactly predict the time of his or her death. Even those who are terminally ill cannot determine when will they die. Their doctors can only estimate based on their condition. But no one will be able to determine the exact date and time.<br /><br />Our life is compared to a vapor. It will be here for a while but at no time at all it will be gone. Our life here on earth is just temporal. And after our life here on earth, we will be leaving in eternity.<br /><br />As early as now, we already need to decide where and to whom we want to live our eternity? Do we desire to live with our Creator or with His Enemy? In Paradise or in Hell, the place of torment?<br /><br />The power of God to forgive sin is on earth only, while we still live and can still make a decision. There is only a way to be with God in eternity, and that is through Jesus Christ. We need to accept the fact that you are a sinner and you need a Saviour. Anyway, there is no one who can claim that he is sinless. We don't only need to believe on Jesus Christ but to trust Him that He can save us from the fury of Hell. You have to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. That is only the way to Heaven.<br /><br />I sincerely hope that you will not waste this chance, the chance to be with God eternally. Now is the perfect time for you to make a decision.Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-63403172995997437292009-06-24T15:55:00.000-07:002009-06-24T16:12:23.645-07:00Trust In God Is Better Than Putting Confidence in Man<span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">Memory Verse:</span><br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 0); font-weight: bold;">Psalm 118:8 "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."</span><br /><br />Have you ever experienced betrayed by your friend or by someone very close to you? Someone whom you really trust and share your secrets with? Painful right? And very disappointing because that is the last person that you expect to betray you.<br /><br />This only proves that is only God whom we can trust without any chance to betray us. The more we trust God, the more that we please Him and the more we grow about the knowledge of Him.<br /><br />I am not telling here that we cannot trust anyone, but what I am trying to emphasize is that human beings are always limited. Our most loved person can hurt us unintentionally. They can leave us without any reason. And whatever we do to please, it is simply impossible to please at all times.<br /><br />God is exactly opposite. God is unlimited. He can think, perform beyond are thoughts and expectation. Our deepest and most dreadful secrets are safe with Him.<br /><br />You need someone you can share your secrets with? Tell them to God and your secrets are safe.Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-37279977506579806462009-06-21T17:27:00.000-07:002009-06-22T17:50:26.115-07:00Your Heart Is Where Your Treasure Is<div style="text-align: justify;">Matthew 6:21 says "<span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 0); font-weight: bold;">For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.</span>" This simply means that if we invest our money on material things here on earth, our heart is in this earth also but if we have invested our money on spiritual things, which is of the heaven, our heart is in heaven. How do we feel seeing Jesus again? Excited? Hesitant? Why? Is it because we have so many things here on earth that we don't want to leave? Big house? latest car model? Hi-tech and updated appliances? conveniences? fun activities with friends?<br /><br />Remember that we came to this world naked, and we will leave this world naked. We will soon leave all the things that we have here on earth. If you accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you will be with Him. If you have no personal relation with Him yet, it is not too late yet. You can accept His wonderful and eternal gift which is the everlasting life. But just the same, we cannot carry anything with us when we finally reach our final destination. You will not enjoy the things you have now if these things will be left someday. So you might as well use your money for the work of Lord and I am sure that you will have more gains for eternity.<br /><br />Have a blessed week!<br /></div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-88235583122908004422009-06-15T01:26:00.000-07:002009-06-17T21:10:20.019-07:00One FleshGenesis 2:24 says, "<span style="color:#ff6600;">Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh</span>."<br /><br /><div align="justify">This instruction was given right after God brought Eve to Adam, after the first operation and after Adam called Eve a woman. Adam and Eve do not have biological dads nor moms. They were the first parent. But still God gave this instruction to them, because God foreknew that they will they will soon have their own children and their children will have their own family in the future. The instruction is given to them because God expected them to relay this to their future children and to prepare them as well. God wanted them to know that once their sons decided to have their own family, their sons need to leave them and be with his wife. This instruction is repeated in Ephesians 5:31.<br /><br />I believe that this instruction is not given for nothing. I believe that God forsee the problems that arise when the children who decided to settle down still stay on their parents side. For one, the couple will not learn to build their own family. They will still depend on their parents for almost everything; decisions, finances, taking care of their kids and many other things that they supposed to learn if they decided to live on their own. And for the parents who allowed this kind of setup, they are teaching their kids to be weaklings and dependent on them. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">In countries where extended families are not being practiced, this is not a problem. But in Philippines, extended families are very common. Families of the children still live with their parents. There are even some cases where the families of the grandchildren still live in their grandparents' house. Clearly, God's commandment and instruction is being ignored. Sad, but this setup is acceptable in countries like Philippines. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Many didn't realize that this kind of setup is the root of many marital and family problems. Truly, if God's instruction is not obeyed, expect problems and hurts to face.</div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-80736062258618456022009-06-09T04:37:00.000-07:002009-06-09T05:44:41.774-07:00Provoke not to wrath<span class="fullpost">I always believe that parents can make or break their children. The father's role in raising a child plays a big part on the child's future preferences and decisions, specially in their spiritual choices. Fathers can be an encouragement to their children to have an intimate relation with our Saviour or they can also be the cause of the children's choice not to serve God.<br /><br />I witness many cases wherein the fathers are faithful in the church. And what I mean by faithful is not only faithful attending church worship services, but actively participating in almost all the ministries in the church. But sad, because they and sometimes they wives, are the only active in the family. Their children chose to have a different life.<br /><br />Of course, this is not the father or parents' fault alone. But somehow, the parents of this children failed in some area, that is why they choice a different path.<br /><br />So God, being an all-knowing God, gave a reminder for fathers in Colossians 3:21 to prevent this scenario. Colossians 3:21 says "<strong><span style="color:#ff6600;">Father, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged</span></strong>."</span>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-62679044092882741962009-06-02T16:32:00.001-07:002009-06-02T20:58:23.194-07:00Glad FatherProverbs 15:20 says, "<span style="color:#ff6600;"><strong>A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.</strong></span>"<br /><br /><div align="justify">Wise is defined as Dictated or guided by wisdom; containing or exhibiting wisdom; well adapted to produce good effects; judicious; discreet; as, a wise saying; a wise scheme or plan; wise conduct or management; a wise determination (<a href="http://thinkexist.com/dictionary/meaning/wise/">thinkexist.com</a>). </div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">Do we not give joy and gladness to our parents if we do the right thing? These are verses with "father" word. Join me as I memorize and/or refresh these verses.<br /><br />To begin with, let us memorize Psalm 27:10. The Bible says "<strong><span style="color:#ff6600;">When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.</span></strong>" What an assurance isn't?<br /><br />God already knew that there will be parents who will leave and forsake their children. This is the reason why this verse was written, to comfort those kids who were neglected by their parents.<br /><br />Children who grew up in the nurture of their parents should be thankful that their parents are responsible enough to take care of them no matter how imperfect their parents maybe. Anyway, nobody is perfect, only God is perfect.Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-33954237548177462612009-05-26T18:42:00.000-07:002009-05-29T10:45:21.744-07:00Be Not ConformedToday's memory verse usually comes along with the previous verse I shared, Romans 12:1 Our verse today is in Romans 12:2. The Bible says "Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed, by the renewing of your mind. That ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God."<br /><br />If we have a desire to know the perfect will of God in our lives, God's instruction is to stay away from the things of this world. Be ought not to conform to the standards of this world. We are not citizens of this world but of heaven. Hence, our eyes should not be focused on the things of this world but of the things in heaven. Our old nature should no longer reign in us but our the new person that God created in us when we accepted Christ as our own personal Lord and Saviour. Through constant reading and meditating upon the Word of God, our minds will eventually be renewed.<br /><br />God's plan for us is the BEST PLAN for us. Should we settle for less?Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-48574796926265063812009-05-24T01:25:00.000-07:002009-05-24T01:59:51.652-07:00Living SacrificeThis verse is not new to me but I was reminded of this verse last week during the third night of our Bible Research. This was the night's memory verse. The verse is in Romans 12:1 & 2. The Bible says "I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."<br /><br />When Jesus died for our sins, Jesus did it once and for all. This means that no more other shedding of blood is required for the remission of our sins. Jesus' blood is sufficient for the sins of the world. God no longer require us to die for our sins, instead He wants us to give our lives as living sacrifice. He needs our lives to do His work here on earth, to fulfill the great commission in Matthew 28: 19-20, to reach the lost. But before we offer our lives as a living sacrifice, it should meet the requirements first; It should be holy and acceptable unto God otherwise our effort will just be like filthy rags in God's sight. Remember, God is holy and only holy things will be pleasing and acceptable in His sight.<br /><br />Your life will never be acceptable in God's sight if you have no personal relationship with Him. Simply because He don't know you. The first thing you need to do before you offer your life as a living sacrifice, is establish your relationship with Jesus Christ first. Admit that you are sinner, ask God's forgiveness, and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.<br /><br />If you have any question on how to accept Christ, please leave me a note and I will be very happy to help you.<br /><br />God Bless!Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-72393666010709723302009-05-18T18:21:00.000-07:002009-05-29T11:08:50.733-07:00Unimaginable Gift<div align="justify">Today's memory verse is found in 1 Corinthian 2:9. The Bible says "<span style="color:#ffcc33;">But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him</span>." Isn't this is a wonderful promise? God has prepared something for us, which no man has ever conceived in mind nor in heart? What might it be? Truly, God's wisdom is infinite. It is incomparable to man's thinking. So let us love the Lord with all our hearts, mind, and soul and expect the unimaginable gift from God. </div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-48072477490436492122009-05-10T00:00:00.000-07:002009-05-29T11:10:42.192-07:00Honour Thy Mother<div align="justify">The world is celebrating the Mother's Day today! All of us definitely have our own moms because if we don't, we shouldn't also be existing in this sinful world. Let us take a look what the Word of God says about mothers.<br /><br />Our memory verse for today can be found in<strong> Exodus 20:12</strong>. The Bible says "<strong><span style="color:#ffcc33;">Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.</span></strong>" This is a familiar verse and I wouldn't be surprised if you already know the verse. This is one of the commandment in the ten commandments given to Israel by God through Moses. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span></span> </div><div align="justify"><span>In Ephesians 6:2, this commandment is repeated, Honour thy father and the <span style="color:#ffcc33;">mother</span>. This is repeated because this is an important verse. According to Ephesians 6:2, this is the first commandment with promise. And what is the corresponding promise if we obey this commandment? Our lives will be prolonged.<br /><br />Even without this explicit commandment, I do believe that our parents, especially our moms deserved due respect and honour. Our moms conceived us for nine months or more in their tummy. They undergo so much changes and sacrifices just to deliver us healthy. They feed us, clothed us, they give us shelter, take good care of us, and give us anything that we need. Needless to say, God used them as instruments in order for us to survive in this world.<br /></span><span><br /><span><span>I believe that Moms' sacrifices and efforts are greater than our dad. Our dad's main concern is to provide for our needs. Our moms are the one who do the "dirty jobs" for us. We can't count the good things that our moms did for us. In all these things, do we still need to be commanded to honour them? </span></span></span></div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-65435836630522613252009-05-07T11:50:00.000-07:002009-05-29T11:05:59.065-07:00Is there anything too hard for THEE<div align="justify"><span style="font-size:100%;">Today's memory verse is from the book of Jeremiah chapter 32 verse 17. The Bible says "<span style="color:#ffcc33;">Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:</span>"<br /><br />What a comforting words from the Word of God, isn't? A declaration of God's almighty power. In book of Genesis, the bible declare how God created the heaven and the earth. By what means? Right! Simply by words alone! When He said, There will be a light, and there was light. No one can ever do the same thing, even the great magicians can never just utter the words to create things and will be created. Only God alone has the power to create things simply by words.<br /><br />If God created the entire universe, is there anything He can't do? Ah yes! He can't change! He can't leave His promises unfulfilled. He can't do things that will contradict His holy nature.<br /><br />He is a supernatural God who performs supernatural miracles in the life of men and women who put their trust in Him.<br /></span></div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-21261141577300014172009-04-22T20:55:00.000-07:002009-06-01T21:08:01.539-07:00The FEAR of the Lord prolongs life<div align="justify"><span>Today's memory verse is in Proverbs 10:27. The Bible says "<strong><span style="color:#ffcc33;">The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.</span></strong>" We can relate the previous memory verse which is in Proverbs 8:13 in this verse. In Proverbs 8:13, the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. When we say evil, this are things which do not glorify God. What are the simple examples of these things? Lie, stealing, inflicting pain with other people, gossips and all of the bad things that you can think of. Let us take stealing as in illustration. When we say stealing, we get other people's property without permission. If we steal, what are the possible result? The owner of the thing we steal will definitely get mad and if he/she discovered who stole his/her thing, the natural tendency of man is to get angry to that person. His reaction will depend on the importance of thing stole from him and on his/her self-control. If he is the type of person who has a very lousy self-control, a petty stealing can result to physical injury, imprisonment or worst, killing.<br /><br />In short, doing bad things due to lack of fear of God puts one's life to danger. In this verse, the Bible simply state the obvious and reminds us the results if we fear God.</span></div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-5079363390096171542009-04-20T17:58:00.000-07:002009-06-01T21:08:01.539-07:00Fear of the Lord is to hate evil<div align="justify">It is been so long since I post the last memory verse. I've been busy with my fulltime work and helping out with our church camp. Thank God, our camp was a success. Many souls got saved and the messages were really challenging. Though the camp site is not really convenient (shortage of water, mosquitos, uncomfortable and dirty quarter), it cannot be compared to the spiritual blessings showered during the entire duration of the camp.<span class="fullpost"></div><div align="justify"><br />Now I am back and hopefully, I'll have a little time every day to post a new verse for us to memorize. To continue the "<em><span style="color:#ff6600;"><strong>Fear of the Lord</strong></span></em>" series in the book of <span style="color:#33cc00;"><strong>Proverbs</strong></span>, today's memory verse can be found in <strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">Proverbs 8:13</span>. </strong>The <strong>Scriptures</strong> says "<span style="color:#3333ff;"><strong>The </strong><strong>fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.</strong></span><span style="color:#3333ff;"> </span>"<br /><br />In this verse, it is declared that if we fear God, we should not hate evil things, including pride and arrogancy and we will not be delighted in any evil way. Are we aware that if we delight on evil things or we patronize, admire, applaud people who commit unlawful act in the sight of God, though we are not the actual doer of these evil actions, we are partakers of their sin? Godly and heavenly things cannot be united with evil things. Hence, if we cultivate Godly fear in us, our heart will be furious with any amount of sin.</div></span>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-86343561637566659582009-03-29T19:56:00.000-07:002009-03-29T21:05:18.017-07:00Book of Proverbs<div align="justify">One my favorite books in the bible is the book of Proverbs. And for this week, I will be sharing memory verses from the book of Proverbs with "fear of the Lord" phrase. So join me as I memorize/review these verses everyday. May we have a blessed and fruitful week ahead of us.</div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">Our first memory verse for this week is in Proverbs 1:7. The Bible says, "<strong>The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.</strong> " </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Every person I believe has his/her own fear. Many have fear of heights (<em>Acrophobia</em>). Some are afraid of spiders (<em>Arachnophobia</em>) and there are so many phobias that a person might have. But the <em>fear</em> mention in Proverbs 1:7 is different from these fears. The <em>fear</em> here is the kind of fear that is accompanied by l<em>ove. </em>The kind of fear that would compel us to obey God's instructions. The kind of fear that would give as the guilt feeling even before we commit an intentional sin. The fear that would make us grieve whenever we continue to disobey God's Word. If we implant this kind of fear in our lives, we won't have any other fear. We will have the courage to do great things for God. We would be fearless to follow every commandment that God has given us. And these instructions and commandments is for our learning and for our own good. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">But this is also the fear that fools do not want to have in their life. Because fools do not want to be instructed. They believe that they know everything and they can run their own lives which is really foolishness. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">Let us continue to pray that God will cultivate the Godly fear in us.</div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-12840018278640360792009-03-26T18:56:00.001-07:002009-06-01T21:13:08.115-07:00Pray Secretly<div align="justify">For today's memory verse, I want to share with you<strong> Matthew 6:6. </strong>The Bible say, <strong>"But</strong> <strong>thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly</strong>."</span></div><p align="justify"><span class="fullpost">In this verse we are instructed to pray secretly. When we pray we do not pray to the people around us but to our loving Father. We are not talking to the people around us but to our only wise God. Hence, there is no need for us to broadcast our prayer and to let others know that we are praying. For when we do that, we might get the glory that is due to God.<br /><span class="fullpost"><br />One reason I am thinking why God gave this instruction is to help us concentrate while we are praying. If we are alone and we shut the door close, there is less distraction and our mind can focus more to our God.</p><p align="justify">If we obey this, God's answer will be given to us openly and even without telling to others explicitly, they will definitely see God's reward to us.</span></p><p align="justify">May you have a rewarding day!</p><p align="justify"></p><br /></span>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-64206521795483151052009-03-26T18:17:00.000-07:002009-03-26T19:12:50.997-07:00A Love TheoryI've been tagged by Mommy Joy of <a href="http://joshandme.com/">A Momma's Journal </a>with this meme. In this verse, the Bible tells us the time we should pray. Not only in the morning, but also in the evening, and noon. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">In our busy life as mother, wife and sometimes as employee, we neglect our prayer life. We forget that our strength and power comes from our mighty God. We put our prayer life in the end of our priority list. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Anyway, it is not too late to start. We can re-prioritize our schedules and make our prayer life and other things for God on the top our list.</div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Have a prayerful day ahead!</div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-88718915316540616982009-03-24T18:28:00.000-07:002009-06-01T21:07:47.621-07:00Prayer in the Morning<div align="justify">What is the first thing you do in the morning? Some people would answer, "I open my eyes". Great! What an intelligent answer <a href="http://emoticonizer.info/"><img src="http://emonizer.googlepages.com/14.gif" border="0" /></a> </div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Seriously speaking, what comes to your mind whenever you woke up everymorning? Is it the yesterday's unfinished tasks in the office? Is the unending household chores? Is it the filing unpaid bills? </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"></div><br /><span class="fullpost"><br />Would you agree that whatever your comes to your mind the very minute you open your eyes is your God at that moment? So if the first thing that popped-up your mind is your household chores, your god is your house. If your tasks in the office, then your god is your work?<br /><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">In Psalm 5:3, The great kind David declares that he would pray unto God in the morning. And this is our memory verse today. Just to help us be reminded that we ought to pray every morning. The mere fact that God allows us to wake up is something that we should already be thanked for. And we should also seek God's guidance and protection for the entire day. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">This is my personal experience. Whenever I forgot to pray before I leave my bed, I noticed that my day is chaotic. I messed with my job. My mood is not good and I do not finished anything. </div><div align="center"></div><center><a href="http://emoticonizer.info/"><img src="http://emonizer.googlepages.com/ahhhhhhh.GIF" border="0" /></a></center><div align="justify"><br />That is how God reminds me that I did not prioritize Him.<br /><br />So for today's memory verse, we will qoute David's prayer in <strong>Psalm 5:3.</strong> The Bible says, "<strong>My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up</strong>."<br /></div><div align="justify"></div><p>May you have a prayerful day!<br /></p><br /></span>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-21767181059477577902009-03-23T09:01:00.001-07:002009-06-01T21:20:39.090-07:00Pray Without Ceasing<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghl467BMLDDi9DbabS1x-Y0P2EZ_868yFwrlABrXgXjJByZpFbHwLjF5x9ZL6cDMu500Z3vceYcz15w_-DYPCQPMuqCS-6EstKDt6lz6t_rq5LGybdhUM3NHaWfm8IaRI07N29IOa-u83m/s1600-h/prayer.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316435714369474610" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 237px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="Pray Without Ceasing" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghl467BMLDDi9DbabS1x-Y0P2EZ_868yFwrlABrXgXjJByZpFbHwLjF5x9ZL6cDMu500Z3vceYcz15w_-DYPCQPMuqCS-6EstKDt6lz6t_rq5LGybdhUM3NHaWfm8IaRI07N29IOa-u83m/s320/prayer.jpg" border="0" /></a> Our next theme would be about <strong>Prayers</strong>. I will share verses with word(s) containing the root word "pray". So the word maybe prayers, praying, prayerful and anyword with "pray" in it.<br /><br /><div align="justify">To begin with, let us start with the easiest verse. Our memory verse for today is in <strong>I Thessalonians 5:17</strong>. The Word of God says, "<strong>Pray without ceasing</strong>." </div><br /><div align="justify">Even when I was still a kid, I always hear this verse, "<strong>pray without ceasing.</strong>" But I do not fully understand it. Only when the word "<em>cease</em>" was added to my vocabulary, I realized the meaning of the verse. But another question popped-up in my mind? Is a non-stop praying possible? Then God allows me to read an article which answers this question. The answer is <strong>YES</strong>. Praying is talking to GOD. As the acronym ACTS implies, it is an <strong>A</strong>doration, <strong>C</strong>onfession, <strong>T</strong>hanksgiving, and <strong>S</strong>upplication. And these things can be done simultaneously with the other things that we are doing. We can silently pray while we are riding on a bus going to our office or school. We can think God's goodness when we feel the heat of the sun on our skin. We can say always say Thank you Lord whatever we do or we can silently request God to give us favor before men whenever we meet new people. We can do it if only we are determined to do it. </div><br /><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="justify">God wants us to continuously communicate with HIM. </div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-23442111870972672832009-03-23T08:27:00.000-07:002009-06-01T21:11:11.238-07:00Salute Our Pastors<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWgxfGNKZOifxy6FARzpEQC-mWqDmT9quShEr3KbpRXXsf11IlYrIID75-ZV1xzh3MxljUMPMUWgsU8CI1ma4guO3f5oLrsLFDj0miH9GCZqs4ycwD-aIippLw4N5BdTME39-ngLnOeHMN/s1600-h/Salute.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316410868411516210" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="Salute Our Pastors" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWgxfGNKZOifxy6FARzpEQC-mWqDmT9quShEr3KbpRXXsf11IlYrIID75-ZV1xzh3MxljUMPMUWgsU8CI1ma4guO3f5oLrsLFDj0miH9GCZqs4ycwD-aIippLw4N5BdTME39-ngLnOeHMN/s320/Salute.jpg" border="0" /></a> For the culminating verse for our series, our last memory verse for the theme "<em>Pastor</em>" is in <strong>Hebrews 13:24</strong>. The Bible says, "<strong>Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you</strong>".<br /><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="justify">What comes to your mind when you hear the word salute? For me, I always associate salutation to military or police officer. Isn't before a military subordinate talks to his superior, he salutes first. Before he leave his officer, he will salute again. And I remember that COCCs salute CAT officers when they meet them in hallways or corridors. </div><br /><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="justify">But what does salutation implies? For me, this is a sign of high <strong>respect</strong> for a person. In this verse, we are instructed to <strong>salute</strong> those who have rule over us, which none other than our pastors. Meaning, we are instructed not only to <strong>OBEY</strong> them, <strong>REMEMBER</strong> them, but also <strong>RESPECT</strong> them .</div><br /><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="justify"></div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400921510792501614.post-69678866225580022772009-03-18T18:21:00.000-07:002009-03-18T21:23:08.964-07:001 Timothy 5:17<div align="justify">In continuation of our topic for this week, our memory verse for today is in <strong>1 Timothy 5:17</strong>. The Bible says "<strong>Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine</strong>." </div><br /><div align="justify">Although in this verse, it is not explicitly stated that the double honor only pertains to pastors, but in the phrase "<strong>they who labour in the word and doctrine,</strong>" we can surely say that the one who is counted worthy for double honour is our pastors. Because they are the one who really labour in the word and doctrine. They diligently study the Word of God to make sure that they do not distort the Message of God and feed us with substantial food for our spirit. </div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">I personally believe that we should give due respect to our pastor for they watch for our soul. They are our spiritual father here on earth. They care for us even though they are not related to them. They pray for us and they definitely love us as brethren in Christ. Is this not enough reason to give them the double honor?</div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">May God give us the grace to continue to love our pastors and honor them as the Word of God instructed us to do.</div>Mylenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03763147605957053882noreply@blogger.com0
