I John 2:15-16
I've been already out for 10 days :(
I've been quite busy testing the steps for Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 clustering and taking care of my sick daughter. Thank God she is now well. So many people prayed for her.
Going back to my daily memory verse, I want to share this memory verse. This passage can be found in 1 John 2:15-16. The Word of God says "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
Here, we are reminded that as Christians, we should not love the things of the world. We know for a fact that everything that is in the world is temporal and will be left here once we finally meet our God. On the succeeding verse, John enumerate the classifications of the things of the world, either it is lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, or the pride of life. These things can never please God.
So as children of God, we should always guard our desires, our motives, our plans and everything that we do. What is the reason our action? Is it for fame? for riches? for power? Will it glorify our Maker?
Let us pause for a while and plead God to help us guard our lives that in any point of time, our lives will always be acceptable in His sight!
God Bless!

Ephesians 3:20-21
Today's memory verse can be found in Ephesians 3:20-21. The Word of God says "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
There is one point in my life that I always recite this verse in my mind. This is my way of reminding myself that God cannot be confined in a "box". My God is all powerful and He can do things beyond my thinking. I still claim this promise whenever I realized that my capacity is not enough to accomplish certain task or if I am praying for something that I know that I cannot have if I will only depend on my own ability.
How about you? What promise in the Bible do you claim?

Hebrews 12:28
Today's memory verse is a verse shared by the young people's adviser in our church. The passage is found in Hebrews 12:13 - 14. The Word of God says "Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire."
This verse reminded me that everything that I've done for the Lord like going to church, reading my bible, performing my ministry, participating in church activities, giving my tithes and offering, and all other activities will come to nothing if I've done them without faith. They become as filthy rags in the sight of God and will not be acceptable for the most High God. They will all be burned for our God is a consuming fire. Only one thing will please God, and that is faith.
May the Lord help me to have faith that pleases God and grace that I may serve my God acceptably.

God So Loved the World
Today's memory verse is John 3:16. John 3:16 is very familiar, almost everyone knows it, even the toddler. This is usually the first verse a newly saved memorized.
This verse is the heart of the Bible. In this verse, God revealed His love for mankind and His action to express that love: He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes His Son will have everlasting life. What a great love!
As a parent, would you allow your only child to die for the sake of a murderer or for the most notorious criminal in your town. I doubt if you will permit this to happen. But Jesus, who knew no sin, died for sinners like us and give us the most precious gift, everlasting life in heaven.
Here is the verse. I pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to you as you read the verse. Have a blessed day!
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life"
